Stewardship: A Transformational Journey of the Head, Heart, and HandsOur passion is for stewardship as spiritual formation. We believe that the spiritual disciplines of stewardship; giving, serving, and the wise use of all that God has given to us, not only provides the resources for the advance of the Good News of Jesus Christ through Christ’s church, but they are also key components in our spiritual growth as people who reflect the love, grace, and service of Jesus Christ in every part of our lives. We believe that the practice of stewardship is a transformational journey that involves our head, our heart and, our hands.
Head: This is the foundation of our journey which is the promise of God’s word, the great realities of the upside-down Kingdom of God upon which we can live new and liberated lives. The journey begins as we learn about God’s grace, God’s upside-down economy, (“the last will be first and the first will be last”), God’s abundance and his rock solid promise of eternal provision, and intentionally connect these new Kingdom realities to the spiritual disciplines of stewardship. Heart: In
the final analysis we always act out of who we are. The journey of
stewardship allows God to continue his transforming work in our lives
so that “we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory,
are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory,
which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 Hands: This is the part of the journey where we participate in God’s transformation of our lives. Through the disciplines of service and giving we not only act in obedience to God’s commands, but we also allow the Holy Spirit access to our lives to do his transforming work of building us into the image of our Lord Jesus Christ.
