Component 2: Life Experiences

Troy Parson, chaplain
United States Army

Covenant Life Experiences are designed to immerse pastors in the life of the greater Covenant church. Covenant Orientation pastors need to participate in at least six Covenant Life Experiences any time during enrollment. Experiences may be used more than once and those taken in the three years preceding enrollment may be counted.

Required Experiences (need at least one of each)

1) The Annual Meeting;  this includes the annual meeting of the ministerium and participation in the business sessions, either as a delegate or as a general conferee.

2) The Midwinter Conference; this may include years when Covenant Orientation classes are taken.

3) Conference Ministerium Retreat (also called pastor/spouse retreat or fall ashram)

"Another value I took from the CEOP experience was learning of the many ministries that the Covenant is doing and the resources that are available to help our local church.  We are a small aging church, but we still want to be a part of God’s work.  Being a part of such an active, growing denomination opens many doors of opportunity for us.  We can feel good about the financial contribution we are able to make, knowing that the money is going toward the harvest.  And we can get excited about participating personally in the retreats or missions trips or whatever else the Lord calls us to do." - Deena Jones
