January 11 - Human Trafficking Awareness Day Sunday, January 11, 2009 is Human Trafficking Awareness Day. I invite you to join us in
a Covenant-wide effort to create awareness and encourage action in the
important fight against modern-day slavery. The following resources have been collected by a diverse group of
individuals from across the Covenant who are passionate about
addressing human trafficking. It is our goal to encourage all Covenant
churches to observe January 11, Human Trafficking Awareness Day, and
launch or continue a multi-faceted effort to engage this injustice.Thank you for joining us in this effort!

On average it takes $1,000 to free one sex slave. CHRISTIAN FORMATION MATERIAL• Adult Books Study - Use these recommended studies for group discussion as a four to six week adult Sunday School companion. Each includes thorough study guide questions. • 5-Day Scripture Reflection Guide - Available for download, this 5-day scripture prayer guide will help you reflect on scripture and on modern-day slavery. • IJM Youth Curriculum: The Justice Mission - This interactive, thought-provoking curriculum engages youth groups in God's call to seek justice on the earth. Includes 1 leader's guide and 1 DVD. • Children's Curriculum on Human Trafficking - Created by curriculum writer Susan Martin Miller (Faith Covenant Church, Colorado Springs, CO), this creative lesson for mixed elementary aged children enables young people to explore injustice and empathize with children in less fortunate situations. • Children's Service Project - Help younger children in your community or church identify with children's needs in India where the Hindustani Covenant Church is helping prevent human trafficking and is addressing root causes of slavery. • Monthy Prayer Calendar - Coming soon. • Movie Recommendations - Host a movie night about human trafficking to promote awareness and discussion in your church, community or homes. SCHOOL CAMPAIGNS• Loose Change to Loosen Chains - In this inspiring school campaign to collect change, students, youth groups, churches, and college campuses can all get involved to help bring freedom and justice to people who don't have a voice. NORTH PARK THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY MATERIAL• What is Human Trafficking and What is the Response of the Church? - Listen to the podcast of this forum hosted by Dr. Boaz Johnson.
