When the disciples ask Jesus in Acts chapter one, “are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” what they really wanted to know was, “Jesus, what’s the plan? Now that you have defeated sin and death what is your plan Jesus for our lost and broken world?” Jesus said, “You are the plan! You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Jesus said the task of sharing his salvation and his love with a hurting world is ours. we are the plan!
The Evangelical Covenant Church is a family of congregations, individuals, and institutions that not only gratefully accepts Jesus’s challenge to be his plan for the world. We are a group of people who profoundly believe that we are the plan! We believe that what we do in the name of Jesus we do better together. We call our work together covenant shared ministry.
