For a Christian leader character is paramount. From the wisdom of Mother Wardella Thompson (Community Covenant Church, Calumet Park, Illinois) we’ve learned a very important leadership principle. 

“You can’t lead where you won’t go, and you can’t teach what you don’t know.”

We believe that the church will have difficulty growing spiritually beyond the maturity level of its leaders. As leaders, then, we need to take our Christian formation journey very seriously. We need to be intentionally cooperating with the Spirit in the forming of our character…so that we increasingly reflect the character of Christ.
