<description>Hilltop Covenant Church (Cromwell, CT) is seeking a Director of Children&#x26;rsquo;s Ministries who is an exceptional leader with a passion for children, families and the church. This key person will be directly responsible for the operation of Hilltop Nursery School and Day Care Center &#x26;ndash; a well-established program serving as many as 60 children from Cromwell and surrounding communities. In addition to their responsibilities in the nursery school/daycare, a portion of the Director&#x26;rsquo;s time will also be spent helping the church to develop and implement children&#x26;rsquo;s programs for its members and community. <title>Director of Music &#x26; Choir Director (Part-Time)</title>

<description>NORTHWEST COVENANT CHURCH (Mount Prospect, IL) is seeking to hire a Director of Music &#x26;amp; Choir Director. PURPOSE: The Director of Music &#x26;amp; Choir Director provides leadership in the planning, coordination, preparation, presentation and evaluation of weekly worship at Northwest Covenant Church. He or she will provide this ministry under the leadership of the pastor(s); and in cooperation with the Chair of the Worship Board, and the Chairperson of the Church. ACCOUNTABILITY: The Director Director of Music &#x26;amp; Choir Director is directly accountable to Pastor Bryan (or Pastor Paul in his absence), and the Chair of the Worship Board. RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct and oversee the all music ministries of the church, with the exception of the contemporary worship service.  This includes oversight, and evaluation of the children&#x26;rsquo;s choir, handbell choir, accompanist(s), and organist. Meet on a regular basis with the pastor(s) in charge of the worship service for the purpose of selection of congregational songs and hymns; and contributing to the planning of worship and music around sermon themes. Arrange for special music during the summer months. Plan, develop, and conduct special seasonal performances as required. Identify, recruit, and train volunteer musicians and other worship participants who will provide music for the traditional service. This recruitment may include high school and post-high school aged youth and young adults; this may require communication and cooperation with church ministries and staff assigned to these groups. Serve as a staff representative to the worship board, and participate in staff, board, and council meetings as necessary. Schedule and direct weekly rehearsals of the choir in preparation for their weekly contribution in the worship service. Provide for the purchase (and replacement), upkeep and maintenance of all instruments, music, and equipment used by the various music ministries of the church. Provide the Chair of the Worship Board an annual budget for the Church&#x26;rsquo;s music program. Other Terms of Employment: The Director of Music &#x26;amp; Choir Director job is a part-time position. A schedule of hours to be worked will be developed with the Chair of the Worship Board, and the pastor(s). The stipend will be commensurate with experience.  An annual performance review will be held. QUALIFICATIONS: (not in order of priority) SINCERE FAITH AND CHRIST-CENTERED LIFE: Director of Music &#x26;amp; Choir Director shall be a born-again Christian, who has a living walk with Christ, and a desire to exercise faith and service through this ministry position. Other attributes include: an ability to integrate and translate the congregation&#x26;rsquo;s biblical mission and purpose through the ministry of contemporary worship and music; spiritual giftedness; knowledge of the Word of God; ability to lead youth in worship is desired  (i.e. guitar and/or keyboard skills and vocal singing are considered helpful). This person must attend worship services at Northwest Covenant Church, and shall seek membership in the church. PROFESSIONAL, TECHNICAL, AND ORGANIZATIONAL SKILL PLUS A WILLINGNESS TO LEARN: Director of Music &#x26;amp; Choir Director shall be a high school graduate with college and/or professional continuing education experience in worship and music ministry. This person shall have an ability to envision and develop worship objectives into manageable, tangible, and achievable goals. Knowledge of computer and sound system technology is helpful. There will be a need for administrative organization necessary for development of this ministry. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS AND DEVELOPMENT: Director of Music &#x26;amp; Choir Director needs an ability to relate well with people (both youth and adults); able to make decisions and delegate responsibilities to others. The director will have the responsibility to recruit musicians and performers, communicate ministry expectations, and, with the counsel of the pastor(s), shape the Church&#x26;rsquo;s music ministries so that ministry effectiveness is assured. This requires an ability of interpersonal communication. Required to interact and serve with the church pastor and staff, and be under the direction of the pastor(s).  A background check is required. PERSONAL ATTITUDES: a Spirit-filled winsomeness, friendliness; joy of life; caring for and loving others in Christ; a desire to share the grace, love, and life of Jesus Christ with others; a positive mental attitude of faith, hope, and love; a serving, glad, and humble attitude; an ability to graciously express leadership; openness to new ideas; self-starter / self-initiative imperative.
