"What’s next?" The response to Veritas is overwhelming. Pastors and lay leaders across the Covenant are coming together to have conversations about congregational vitality that are civil, compassionate and Christ honoring. The stories of revitalization keep coming in. More and more churches are asking the significant questions and taking the significant steps. I am very encouraged at how God is moving and how people are responding. Because the demand is so great for Veritas, we have trained seven teachers to present the material. If you would like to schedule Veritas for your cluster of churches, please contact Chris Hagberg. We ask for a minimum of five churches to make it go.
The picture I get is of a large field that has a thin carpet of green. The seeds were planted and are now sprouting. It is God who makes things grow and it is God who is blessing this ministry. But that is all we have right now…a great start. Important, but incomplete. Pastors and lay leaders are asking about next steps. What do we do now? First, sign up for coaching. Weeekly coaching is now available for every Covenant Pastor. Simply download the Coaching Start up Kit from the blog, share the concept with your leaders using the PowerPoint presentation and ask for their prayer and financial support. Complete the enrollment form and include a check by the next deadline. Second, use the Vitality Resources. These resources are listed on the blog under Vitality Downloads. We are receiving positive feedback from churches that are using, “It Starts with the Soil, Not With the Seed” and “Life After Veritas for the Congregation and the Pastor.” Third, sign up to receive the Veritas DVD. The DVD is scheduled for release sometime this summer. Sign up by posting a comment on this blog entry or by emailing Chris at chris.hagberg (at) covchurch.org. The cost is minimal. There are more resources currently under construction to help you move forward in becoming a healthy missional church. And that is our earnest prayer, that every Covenant church becomes a healthy missional church. To that end we labor, hoping for an abundant harvest of souls! |
